Vintage Pink DIY Cottage Color

Curated by Jami Ray Vintage, DIY Cottage Colors by DIY Paint, is a water based heavy-duty furniture paint which is suitable for interior use. With low VOC and solvent free, DIY Cottage Colors differ from DIY Paint in that they are a one-step type of paint that can give your furniture an exciting new look wherever that extra bit of performance is needed.  With a built-in top coat, sealing is not required.

Prep.  Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free of grease and penetrating substances. Remove loose coats of old paint or lacquer first. If necessary, prime bleeding wood with DIY Salvation Solution. Paint over new surfaces (wood) and existing firm coats of old paint, lightly sand in between coats.  Only when a strong color difference exists (generally from very dark to very light) spot priming or a third coat may be required.

Drying time. Allow the first coat to dry for approximately 12 hours before sanding; the second coat will be touch dry after about 1 hour, depending on the temperature. 

Cure Time. Allow 21 days for paint to fully cure before exposing to high traffic.

Coverage. One pint of Cottage Color will cover approx. 25 sf. Apply two coats for best coverage. Make sure to minimize waste by carefully calculating the paint you need for your project.

Storage / Shelf life. Store containers tightly sealed in a cool but frost-free place. Shelf life: 1 year, when unopened. Keep unused paint for later use; avoiding waste effectively may minimize the environmental impact of the product.

Ingredients. Water, Silicate, Acrylate Polymer, Waxes, Chalk, Titanium Dioxide, Preservative.

Instructions.

1. Clean and dry the object to be painted.
2. Remove lid and stir thoroughly. Sometimes you don't even need to stir DIY Paint.  It's that good)
3. Apply one coat and allow to dry 12 hours depending on climate. First coat can be be diluted with water (max. 10 to 1).
4. Apply second coat, if needed. It's recommended not to dilute the second coat. Allow second coat to dry 12 hours.
5. Because a top-coat is built-in, you do not have to seal the paint. However, if the paint will see a lot of use with high traffic, it is recommended you seal surface with a DIY Paint finishing product in the DIY Paint Prep, Finish, & Companions Collection.
